A project film showcasing an EU-funded bioenergy initiative turning bush encroachment biomass into a cleaner-burning charcoal alternative.
Made for Carbon Capital, the film introduces SteamBio Africa, a project near Otjiwarongo that brings Namibian and international partners together around a technology for turning encroacher bush into a cleaner-burning solid fuel.
The challenge
SteamBio combines engineering, environmental management, and energy innovation. The film had to explain why bush encroachment is a problem and how the process turns an abundant local resource into a useful energy product: credible to specialists, and clear to everyone else.

The approach
We built the story around two perspectives. The project lead sets out the purpose and ambition of the initiative; the lead project engineer explains how the technology works in practice. Footage of the plant and process ties the two together.
